Tucked away from the main square in the picturesque town of Dolgellau, Y Sospan dates back to 1606. The building historically served as a jail and the restaurant has retained many of its original features, from the slate floor to the restaurant door, and a large fire place beneath a mural from the Middle Ages. The spacious restaurant is perfect for dinner parties as it can seat up to 50 people.

Cadair Idris mountain range sits to the West of the Guesthouse. The mountain provides a dramatic backdrop and tempts you to go and explore its peaks further. There are different routes to choose, some easier and some harder, all of them beautiful. If you love to climb Mountains, then with its waterfalls, lakes and views out to the sea, “Cader Idris” is a must.
